Having joined CoRMSA in August 2012 as an Advocacy Officer, in 2015 he was appointed the National Programme Coordinator leading to his appointment as the Acting Director in January 2018 and later in April 2018, He was appointed the Executive Director for CoRMSA. Thifulufheli possesses vast institutional memory for CoRMSA and migration experience. Thifulufheli arrived with a solid human rights background having worked for Black Sash Trust as a Paralegal Advisor, where he led the Refugee Task Team, as well as Social Auxiliary Worker and Research Fieldworker experience for various organisations. He recently completed his Post-Graduate Diploma in Labour Law from the University of Johannesburg, Certificate in Project Management from University of Cape Town and Certificate in Report Writing from University of Pretoria which he built on a BA in Social Work and a Certificate in Sociological Research. His main interest is the human protection and access to basic services by asylum seekers, refugees and other international migrants in South Africa with a particular focus on children and women.
